1. Current Hot Topic Strategy
But before I show this strategy, let’s talk about the two common ways (you’ve probably already heard of (When it comes to finding keywords)…
The first common strategy is to:
1a. Use YouTube’s autofill feature
- Go to youtube
- Put your keyword in the search bar
- Get ideas from the autofill results here
But there is an advanced way to use this strategy too:
1b. Use the Alphabet Soup technique
Oh yea, we’re getting fancy with that autofill feature!
#holdontoyourseatbelts
How to do the Alphabet Soup Technique:
- Press the spacebar and start typing in a letter of the alphabet
- Get ideas from the new suggested autofill results that start with that letter
- Use a tool like TubeBuddy to find keywords with high Keywords scores
The second common strategy is to:
1b . Use a tool like TubeBuddy’s Score
- Open TubeBuddy tool
- Open keyword tool
- Put the keyword in TubeBuddy and show the keyword score…
But here is a more ADVANCED way to start finding new ideas to see what topics are trending right now…
The more advanced strategy is to:
1c. Use the Hot Topic Strategy
This strategy finds the hottest videos getting the most views right now.
The way this strategy works is to filter keywords to recent and most views.
- Go to Youtube search
- Add Search topic, affiliate marketing
- Filter by this month and most views
Then check the probability of your channel ranking for that trending topic in TubeBuddy.
(The free version of TubeBuddy works fine for this…)
This hot topic strategy gives you a better idea of…
What video content people are watching right now…
And how many people are watching it.
Starting with content that is already getting high view counts puts you in a better chance to get some of those videos instead of just hoping to get just “some views”. #smileyface
2. Launch Jacking
What is Launch Jacking?
Launch jacking is a strategy where you create content around products that have launches and promotions going on around them.
This concept allows you to capitalize on the buzz being created for the product from the launch and promotion.
The most common way to launch jack is to:
2a. Use a site like Muncheye
The most common way of launching jacking you’ve probably already heard of is to use a site like Muncheye.com, to review products that are launching on popular digital product sites like Warrior Plus, JVZoo, and ClickBank.
The most common video content for launch jacking is a product review.
You tell your YouTube audience who the product is for and whether the product is worth buying or not.
- Look at the recent product launch on muncheye
- Go to youtube
- Search for the product “review”
- Look at all the product reviews
- Watch video to confirm whether you should you buy or NOT
But…
2b. Create More Content From Product Reviews
You can also leverage this strategy to create helpful “more information around the topic of the product” as well.
Example:
- Review the latest “we’re gonna send you thousands of buyers in 30 seconds” with this latest social media tool BS statement
- You can make another video that reveals the truth behind this statement, that shows how social media doesn’t work to bring you traffic if you don’t already have a following or willing to pay ads for traffic.
- SHOW 5 truths about social media traffic.
- Show people how the action in the product software can be achieved in some other way, another software.
So you have 1 product you can review + come up with 2 “supporting topics” videos = 3 video ideas….
Create 2 product reviews a week with 4 more video topic ideas (2 per product) = 6 video topics a week.
Do that for 4 weeks inside one full month = and that’s 24 videos.
Well that’s a month’s worth of content ideas right there…
YOU BEST BE GETTIN BUSY!
BUT WAIT!!!!
That is not the Advanced Strategy #2.
Here is a more advanced strategy for launch jacking.
And that is to:
2c. Use Other Websites and Platforms Like Facebook, Instagram and Google
- Go outside of the products on Muncheye.com…
- And Find products to review from Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads and even Google ads.
Afterall, the product creator is spending advertising dollars to target new people with their product.
The product will get VIEWS!
As we all get smarter and the internet gets smarter…
We start to remember that we can leverage the internet to research every product before we buy it…
To make more INFORMED and EDUCATED decisions.
After all, that’s why the internet is as powerful as it is today.
And it’s not going anywhere anytime soon!
Maybe never?!
But if I was you, I’d be saying,
“Yea. Okay. But how do I continuously find new ads for products that I can review?”
Well…
You start by visiting popular websites in the niche you are targeting.
For example:
Since I’m in the affiliate marketing niche, I’ll start by searching for affiliate marketing tools.
- Google Search “affiliate marketing training”
- Click on a few of the results and start clicking on products in those results
- Then go to Facebook and Instagram
- You will almost immediately start seeing relevant ads for products in that niche.
Then the next step is to:
- Find other websites that review these kinds of ads and programs.
- And look at the keywords they are targeting.
This will give you more ideas about products to review that you may not be targeted with yet.
- Find a product ad on facebook
- Go to Google
- Search for “product name” review
- Check out sites that are ranking for that review keyword
3. Ranked Tags
Now remember, I said you could find SO MANY video ideas that you could fill up months and months of time?
Maybe even years (depending on how fast you can produce those videos???
Because the reality is, there are content ideas ALL AROUND YOU!
You just haven’t realized it until now….
Another Advanced Way to Find Youtube Video Ideas in 2021 is looking at Ranked Tags.
There’s actually two ways you can use the “ranked tags” strategy for ideas.
The first way to use the ranked tags strategy is to:
3a. Look at Your Ranked Tags
- Look at the tags you’re channel is already ranking for
- Then create a new specific video for each tag you are ranking for
This strategy works well because you are creating more content of what YouTube is already ranking you for.
You are just giving YouTube more of the topics your channel is already known for.
The second way to use the ranked tags strategy is to:
3b. Look at the Tags Other Channels are Ranking for
- Look at the tags other channels are ranking for.
Not only can you see your tags, but you can see other channel’s ranking tags too!
Using a tool like TubeBuddy….
This way shows you what topics other channels are known for.
Then check the TubeBuddy Keyword score for “directional guidance”.
Make sure you have a chance to rank for it.
4. Channel Piggyback
Now, I can’t take credit for this one.
I recently bought an amazing training course for really up-leveling my YouTube channel for affiliate marketing.
And let me just say, when I learned this strategy.
I thought it was pretty genius.
If you want to want to check out this course too, just click here.
Yes, I bought it. It’s definitely one of the best trainings right now for learning how to crush it with YouTube Affiliate Marketing.
The way the Piggyback strategy works is this.
You look at other channels with high performing videos for topic ideas.
Because if it’s working for them, there is a chance the topics will work for you.
Now this strategy combines the strategy we discussed in #1.
First you search for recent month and most views.
Then, instead of just looking at all these trending videos for topics
- You actually click into the channel
- Go to their videos page
- Filter by most views
- Look at their videos with the highest views
- Plug keywords in TubeBuddy
- Check TB Score and leverage suggestions for alternatives
After recently learning more about this particular strategy…
Come to find out, other highly viewed YouTubers are mentioning this strategy too.
That’s a good sign!
5. Versions 2, 3 and 4
Remember when I said to stick around to the end to learn a way that could help you find YouTube video ideas for years to come?
Well, this is strategy 5. This is the version strategy.
This strategy means you create more versions of a video that is already performing well.
This is a strategy that you grow into overtime because you need to create videos first to see what takes off and what doesn’t.
5a. Use Year Versions
One of the most popular examples of this is using the current year in your content.
Like 2020, 2021, 2022 and so on.
This makes your content appear to be relevant to current times giving viewers the intent that they will learn something that will work today, this year.
And not something that may be 6 years old or that could be outdated even 1 year later.
Here’s an example of what I mean…
A video topic keyword made with 2018 in the title.
This is another video version with the same topic but made in the year 2019.
5b. Use Product Versions
Another example of this strategy is to use different version numbers.
Versions are commonly found with products.
Version 1.0, Version 2.0, Version 3.0
So this strategy works well for product review videos for products that have different versions over time.
An example of this is:
- Product Review 1.0.
Then once the product releases the next version, you do:
2. Product Review 2.0.
100’s and 100’s of YouTube Video Ideas
